Become a Summer Leadership Institute Fellow
APPLY TO BE A FELLOW
The Summer Leadership Institute AmeriCorps Member position hosted by Breakthrough Atlanta’s College Prep Programs is a shortened three-week summer fellowship designed for current undergraduate college students pursuing a major or showing interest in secondary education, school counseling, education policy, or STEAM. Selected Fellows will co-facilitate enrichment sessions for a two-week STEAM focused summer enrichment program, which will include a commitment from May 26th to June 12th, 2026 on the campus of the Lovett School and Emory University. Eligible college students can serve at Breakthrough Atlanta throughout their undergraduate career, even if they graduate in the spring or winter prior to the summer session for which they are applying to facilitate. However, graduate students are not eligible for this opportunity.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 prior to applying for this fellowship.
- Applicants must be able to secure housing and transportation independently
ABOUT THE APPLICATION
The application to become a Breakthrough Atlanta Summer Leadership Institute Fellow includes three phases:

SUMMER 2026 INFORMATION SESSIONS
Join one of our two virtual sessions to demystify the application and interview process and get an exclusive preview of the rigorous and impactful summer curriculum created for Breakthrough Atlanta’s rising 10th-grade scholars. Two sessions will take place via Zoom on the following dates:
- February 9, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- February 16, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
