Breakthrough Atlanta is hosting six information sessions for students and their families interested in our six-year, tuition-free High School Readiness Program. Students going into seventh, eighth, and ninth grades during the 2025-2026 school year are encouraged to apply! The application period will open on November 4, 2024 and run through April 4, 2025.
Operating year-round, the program prepares middle and high school students to excel socially and academically. The goal is to help students plan and prepare – starting as early as seventh grade – to attend a four-year college or university in the future. Our students come from school districts throughout the metro Atlanta area.
The High School Readiness Program has two components to the year-round curriculum: summer and school-year learning. Starting after school lets out, students attend Breakthrough’s fun and challenging six-week Summer Program, which includes:
- English Language Arts, math, and STEM classes to help students where they may be struggling, and to preview content for the upcoming school year.
- Creative electives in areas such as photography, coding, public speaking, sports and more.
During the school year, students attend Super Saturdays where they:
- Explore the non-academic skills they will need to achieve their college and career goals through interactive activities and field trips.
- Develop the critical thinking skills and maturity to make wise choices about school and life through sessions that include, for example, personality and learning styles, personal values, goal setting, study habits, and more.
