Here are a few ways our community helps enable our mission:
This annual fundraising event brings together sponsors, volunteers, and community members to raise much-needed support so students from underserved communities can benefit from the life-changing educational opportunities Breakthrough provides.
This year’s Fund-A-Scholar is on November 4. Consider supporting this important event!
Support from the Foundation Community
We are grateful for the strong support we receive from the foundation community, including the Goizueta Foundation and the Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation, and the Zeist Foundation, which have supported Breakthrough Atlanta throughout most of our history. The generosity of our foundation donors makes up 20% of our annual fundraising revenue and this support is critical for the important programs and services we provide for students and teaching fellows.
With a shared commitment to student success, Breakthrough Atlanta partners with public schools throughout metro Atlanta to identify and recruit students who would benefit from our tuition-free, academic enrichment program.
Toler Velissaris Scholarship Program
This scholarship that was announced in 2021 exclusively for Breakthrough Atlanta scholars is designed to empower scholars to pursue post-secondary education at four-year colleges and universities. Learn more about the Toler Velissaris Scholarship Program.
A generous and dedicated Board of Directors supports our team. The board, led by its Executive Committee, brings unparalleled knowledge, expertise, experience, and resources from some of the region’s most prestigious companies and organizations. We are grateful for their efforts.
