Scholar Spotlight: Belane
Belane attended Chamblee High School in Breakthrough’s College Prep Program. Belane is an outstanding student with a 4.0 GPA, and she credits Breakthrough Atlanta with giving her an academic edge.
“Going into my 8th grade year, Breakthrough pushed me ahead of my peers,” she said, and that academic advantage propelled her to success in high school.
Belane is a leader in student government, Model UN, and Interact Club and plays varsity lacrosse – all while holding a part-time job. She has received numerous awards for her leadership, community service, and academic achievements.
Belane’s Breakthrough experience has shaped her into a leader:
“Coming into the program, I only knew one person, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that Breakthrough would be my second home. The warm welcomes that I received from the Breakthrough staff and my peers played a huge role in building my confidence and creating the outspoken, involved person that I am today,” she said.
Belane has big dreams of attending a top-tier university, studying abroad, and pursuing a career in law. Thanks to your support, Breakthrough Atlanta’s six-year program provides our scholars with the knowledge, skills and resources to turn their college dreams into reality.
